Class: 9:30 AM to 5:00PM Saturday          11:00AM to 4:00PM Sunday (with a room change about 2:00PM)

Betsy Morgan (2007 NSG Seminar teacher-Mermaid Stitching Bag) has created another winning design entitled “Toy Chest Etui!”    Come and join us for a restful and enjoyable weekend this June to stitch a delightful Pennsylvania Dutch theme chest containing six lovely smalls to adorn your collection:  a scissors fob, a needle book, a pin keep, an alphabet-block button box, a toy drum that holds a thread waxer, and a cup-and-ball toy with a wooden handle that is a thimble holder.

The materials include 32-count Belfast linen, Gloriana Silk flosses and ribbons, plaid silk dupioni for lining, perle cotton, buttons, beads, thread waxer, needles, drumstick supplies and more.

Stitches will include cross, tent, lazy daisy, backstitch, bouillon knot, herringbone, satin and closed fly.

Betsy woke up one morning in May with an idea for a toy box with needlework smalls inspired by old-fashioned toys.  Since she has spent time in Pennsylvania and admired the colorful Pennsylvania Dutch theme, she decided it would be ideal for her toy box.  She researched chests and fractures (the round-topped frames with the motifs inside) and then designed her own.

Lunch and beverages will be included in your class cost.
